The flyer welcomes students back to school and shares safety reminders: slow down in school zones; practice bus safety; look both ways when walking or biking; speak up about bullying, threats, fighting, weapons, or anything unsafe; think before posting online; protect accounts with strong passwords; stay aware of your surroundings; follow school rules and procedures; look out for one another; and call 911 for immediate threats, serious injuries, fires, or other emergencies. Parents are encouraged to talk with their children about these tips and identify trusted adults they can go to for help. Hartford Public Schools 2026–2027 Assessment Calendar. September: NWEA for grades K–11, August 31–September 18. October: PSAT for grade 9 and NMSQT for grade 11 on October 14. November: no district assessments scheduled. December: semester exams for grades 9–12, December 14–18; NWEA for grades K–8, November 30–December 11. January: NWEA for grades 9–12, January 6–22; WIDA for identified students, January 25–April 2. February and March: no district assessments scheduled. April: M-STEP for grades 3–5, April 5–30; M-STEP and PSAT 8 for grades 6–8, April 6–15; M-STEP 11, PSAT 9, PSAT 10 and SAT testing for grades 9–12, April 5–30. May: NWEA for grades K–11, April 19–May 13; senior exams for grade 12, April 26–30; final exams for grades 9–11, May 24–28.

Hartford High School and Alternative Education Spring State Testing Schedule for April 2027. Grade 11 SAT is April 6, with makeups completed by April 28. Grade 11 M-STEP Science and Social Studies are April 7, with makeups in the Media Center April 12–28. Grade 11 WIN Career Readiness is April 8, with makeups completed by April 28. Grade 9 PSAT is April 13 and grade 10 PSAT is April 15. PSAT makeups for grades 9 and 10 are in the Media Center and must be completed by April 28.

Spring State Testing Schedule for grades 6–8. Grade 6 M-STEP ELA is April 13 and Math is April 15. Grade 7 M-STEP ELA is April 13 and Math is April 15. Grade 8 PSAT Math and ELA is April 6; M-STEP Social Studies and Science are April 7. M-STEP makeups must be completed by April 23, and grade 8 PSAT makeups must be completed by April 28.

Redwood Elementary Spring State Testing Schedule for April 2027. Grade 3 M-STEP ELA is April 6, grade 4 ELA is April 8, and grade 5 ELA is April 8, with ELA makeups April 9. 🚌 School Bus Safety Tips for Michigan Drivers

As the school year gets underway, here are a few important reminders for Michigan drivers:

• Stop at least 20 feet from a school bus when its red lights are flashing.
• Never pass a stopped school bus with flashing red lights.
• Slow down and watch for reduced speed limits in school zones before and after school.
• Remember that many school buses are equipped with stop-arm cameras.
